# Installation

## New Install

1. Upload `brandmail-pro.zip` through **Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin**.
2. Activate **BrandMail Pro**.
3. Visit **BrandMail Pro > Branding**.
4. Configure brand details, sender settings, support details, footer copy, and legal links.
5. Review templates under **BrandMail Pro > Templates**.
6. Send a test email from **BrandMail Pro > Preview**.
7. Configure retention and uninstall behavior under **BrandMail Pro > Import / Export**.

## Upgrade Guide

Back up your site and database before upgrading. BrandMail Pro includes a compatibility wrapper for the legacy internal source-plugin function and action and migrates legacy branding settings when present.

## Mail Transport

BrandMail Pro formats emails sent through its API. It does not replace SMTP, your mail server, or domain authentication. Use a reputable SMTP or transactional mail plugin if WordPress mail is unreliable.

## Uninstall

Before uninstalling, open **BrandMail Pro > Import / Export** and choose whether uninstall should keep data or remove all BrandMail Pro data. The default is to keep data.
